Brownes hall is run as a charity by 6 management trustees to provided a venue for a range of social, educational, cultural and sporting activities. The main hall can accommodate up to 250 people with a seating capacity of 200 and has a bar, stage and green room. During term time during the day this hall is occupied by Brightstart pre-school.
Other regular weekly users are scouts, over 60’s, spiritualist church, line dancers wednesday and sat. night bingo.
The management have a small public bar which is gradually being refurbished as a cafe/bar for morning trade and sports bar for evening trade. This can be hired for small parties [50].
Carterton social centre club permanently hire a members only bar – new members are always welcome. CSCC run all bars in the premises.
There is a meeting room that can accommodate about 40 people sat in rows.
Caretakers are usually on duty 6.30 -10.30am and 3.00 – 6.00pm.
There are also kitchen facilities for hire.
