Linking up our transport services: MyBus Oxfordshire

We’re proud to be working with Oxfordshire County Council creating partnerships to include community buses in their transport schemes!

Oxfordshire has over 85 community minibus and car schemes run mostly by volunteers. They make up a key part of our transport sector, supporting people who have no other accessible or affordable means of reaching basic services.

MyBus Oxfordshire tickets provide one day or one week’s unlimited travel on nearly all local bus services in the County. Whether you want to explore the County, or simply make your journey to work easier, the MyBus ticket presents a simple, joined up and good value bus travel solution for Oxfordshire’s residents and visitors. Community First Oxfordshire has supported Community Transport for 45 years, with advice and advocacy from a local to national level, and we’re delighted to see them being integrated into the wider transport network.

Update on the EV chargers roll-out in Oxfordshire and an interactive map

Oxfordshire County Council is using a £3.6million grant from central government’s Local EV Infrastructure (LEVI) programme to deliver an additional 1,200 new public EV chargers by the end of 2027. The funding is primarily for lower-power (7-22kW) chargers to provide near-home charging facilities for residents who can’t easily charge at home.

Through this scheme, EV charging hubs will be installed in:

  • Public car parks.
  • Roadsides, where not enough suitable off-street car park locations are available
  • Village hall and community centre car parks where there is enough parking to accommodate a charging ‘micro-hub’.

Oxfordshire County Council would also like to increase the provision of car EV car clubs where cars can be hired on an hourly basis, offering an alternative to traditional car ownership.

Please use this interactive map to tell them where you would like to see public EV chargers and car clubs around Oxfordshire  View the Map and drop a pin in your suggested spotsYour suggestions will help inform their plans for future infrastructure delivery and ensure that it meets the needs of residents.

Once the roll-out scheme has been set up the application process will be open to interested parties. Any community halls and others who filled out an EOI- expression of interest form, will be contacted.
