Dating from the 1700s this converted Hornton stone cottage was given to the Parish of Shenington with Alkerton originally as a Reading Room.
Now refurbished and continually being improved it is a pleasant venue in the centre of Shenington, opposite the Village Green and adjacent to the Church.
It offers accommodation for 60 people for parties, meetings, classes and other social events for the reasonable rate of £7 per hour for people outside the village, £5 for villagers.
It has recently been fitted with a hearing loop and now has a WiFi connection installed.
Facilities include a kitchen with cooker, kettles, urn and refrigerator and crockery, cutlery and glassware may be hired for a small additional sum. Toilet facilities include provision for the disabled.
