Community-led Housing event on Saturday

A person presenting their ideas to a group

In collaboration with Oxfordshire Community Land Trust, we hosted a get-together for community-led housing groups across Oxfordshire on Saturday.

25 representatives from Community Land Trusts, Co-ops and Cohousing groups came together for the first time, and there was a real sense of excitement about the potential for collaboration and the greater impact this could bring.

We agreed to hold regular events through the year to build on this and develop some of the many ideas that came out of the day. The ideas were wide ranging from funding to advocacy. For example, we discussed collaborations on funding initiatives, and the potential to provide a stronger, united voice to gain the support of Local Authorities and other stakeholders.

Community-led Housing is a growing movement that believes communities should be at the centre of housing development, and that this approach creates more affordable, sustainable, and cohesive places for people to live. We support housing schemes across Oxfordshire, from initial ideas through development to community engagement.
