Trustees from Holton Village Hall, Tackley, Brightwell Cum Sotwell and Deddington Windmill Centre and Wendy who uses several halls in the area for her fitness classes, met this morning for a chat over a cuppa and cake.
We talked about lots of hall -related topics! From the practical – solar panels, good suppliers, infra-red heaters, finding volunteers for fundraising – to the creative – Tackley’s pop- up pub and running a community cinema.
Clive Gantanski from Holton then talked us through the energy strategy that Holton Hall committee have produced. Many thanks to Clive for your wonderful clear thinking on ways to cut carbon in your hall’s everyday activities, a very useful strategy to follow. I hope that we will have useful discussions on this subject on our community halls network Facebook Page and at future networking meetings.
After our gathering, Sonja Barter who has been on the hall committee at Holton for 45 years and has also been the Parish Clerk, showed me the community orchard in the field next to the hall, that she is also involved with. Thanks for all your work in the community!
