On Saturday 5 September, community-led housing groups from across Oxfordshire gathered in Hook Norton to strengthen collaboration and share practical experience from their projects. The day brought together people who are actively shaping a more sustainable community-driven future for housing in the country.
The Group began a tour of the Hook Norton Community Land Trust site, led by Charlie Luxton, who played a key role in the development of the project. Charlie offered an open and honest reflection on the success and challenges of delivering the scheme.
After the site visit, everyone headed to the local pub to continue the conversation. Each group shared where they had reached with their own project, the obstacles they were currently facing, and the insights they had gained along the way. The room became a space for mutual support, practical advice.
One idea that emerged from the discussion was to create case studies showcasing the impact that community-led housing is having across Oxfordshire in delivering high quality, sustainable homes that meet real local needs.
